Through the Storm — full-size film preview

Storms arrive. When we are inside one, it can become difficult to imagine the world beyond it. The horizon contracts. What is happening now begins to feel permanent. Through the Storm uses that weather as a metaphor for loss, hardship, uncertainty and the periods of life in which simply continuing can require effort.

I was not interested in pretending that every difficult experience contains a hidden gift. Some things are simply painful. Nor did I want a motivational speech about toughness. The thought underneath was quieter: conditions change. A storm can be fierce without being eternal. The project is not about insisting that people look on the bright side. It is about allowing difficult things to remain difficult while still looking for whatever possibility or movement may coexist with them — reduced here to one elemental image: weather passing through a landscape.

A lone figure and their reflection in still water under a clouded evening sky
